Dianella caerulea, commonly known as blue flax lily, is an attractive perennial plant native to Australia. Known for its strappy, grass-like leaves that are bluish-green in colour, giving the plant its common name. It produces delicate, star-shaped blue or purple flowers on slender stems during the spring and summer months, which are followed by small, round, blue-colored berries. This plant forms clumps that gradually spread. Dianella caerulea is adaptable to a range of conditions, including full sun to partial shade and various soil types. It is a hardy and low-maintenance plant, making it suitable for gardens, borders, and mass plantings. Great for dry, shady conditions under trees. Grows to approx. 50cm-1m H x W.
